Description:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to work in the Emergency Room.
This position involves caring for a wide variety of patients, from newborns to the elderly, presenting with diverse complaints.
The Emergency Room cares for critically ill patients, including those in cardiac arrest, strokes, and heart attacks, as well as trauma patients.
Nurses are expected to be proficient with titration of various intravenous drips.
Candidates must have a strong background in general nursing skills and experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Nurse-patient ratios vary based on patient acuity, with a typical range of 1:3-5.
The department is staffed with a minimum of 3 physicians during all shifts.
Charge nurses handle department needs and assist in critical situations but do not routinely take patient assignments.
Emergency Department technicians assist nurses with various tasks in designated ratios.
Nurses are responsible for interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to life-threatening situations.
Radiology staff manages patient transport for imaging needs.
Laboratory draws are performed by both nurses and technicians.
Shift scheduling is done by management and accounts for requested time-off.
Weekend work is required on a rotating basis.
Holiday shifts are necessary based on department needs.
There is no call requirement for this position.
Floating to other units is rare and typically involves assisting as needed rather than taking a full patient assignment.
A professional appearance is expected, with tasteful scrubs required.
