Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years preferred; 1 year considered with strong skills License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI Must-Have: Previous charge experience; travel experience preferred; community hospital experience required Description: Crosses to real job ID RN - Nights - 36/48H option. EOW experience required but will consider candidates with 1 year of experience. First-time travelers are accepted with strong skills and experience in emergency room nursing. Contract length is 16 weeks, with the possibility of extending to 20 weeks with limited holiday time off. This position requires working every other weekend and on holidays as scheduled. Floating within the specialty is required. No pre-scheduled on-call requirements are present. Average daily census is 130 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. Patient population includes all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics. The emergency room services a variety of diagnoses and is a fast-paced environment. Key skills include managing complex diagnoses, performing procedures such as intubation and chest tube insertion, and administering emergency medications. Critical thinking and the ability to manage violent behavior and complex emergencies are essential. Candidates must have competencies in a variety of emergency medical conditions and interventions. Required training involves compliance with all certifications and laboratory requirements upon contract signing.
