Description:
The position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.
The department is a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
The facility operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center and is a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Common patient diagnoses include trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes.
The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, and 1:5 in Observation.
Emergency RNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
A Charge Nurse is present on each shift.
Support staff, including nurse aides and paramedics, are available in specified ratios.
There are Triage and Fast Track areas within the emergency department.
Weekend and holiday requirements will vary based on departmental needs.
Floating to different units may be required at least once a week.
All required certifications must be current.
Artificial nails are not allowed in departments providing patient care.
Candidates must be willing to adhere to this policy.
