Must-Have:
General Emergency Department experience with combined adult and pediatric care
Required skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Experience in managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG
IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including blood product administration and starting IVs
Medication skills including continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration
Neurological case experience including CVA and traumatic brain injury
Orthopedic skills to manage and apply splints
Pediatric case experience including abdominal pain, asthma, and identifying/reporting abuse
Psychiatric case skills in managing acute psychosis and violent behavior
Respiratory skills including chest tube insertion and management
Familiarity with isolation precautions and triage
Experience with Cerner charting system
Description:
Position for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse.
The ideal candidate will work 4x12 or 3x12 night shifts.
They will take care of an average daily census of 175 patients in a 56-bed emergency department.
Weekend work is required every other weekend.
Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency care.
First-time travelers are accepted.
The role does not require on-call duties or floating to meet facility needs.
Candidates must fulfill special requirements for pediatric and psychiatric cases.
Emergency Department staff experience with a mixture of adult and pediatric patients is necessary.
The RN should be comfortable managing acute medical situations including trauma and respiratory emergencies.
Expectations include handling various patient diagnoses and scenarios common in the emergency setting.
The role will require adherence to unique patient and procedural needs in a high-paced environment.
