Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Obstetrics at a hospital in Machias, Maine. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive, age-appropriate care across the full spectrum of obstetric patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and nursery care, as well as post-operative gynecology patients.

Operating independently under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will apply the nursing process to deliver individualized patient care, demonstrating strong clinical competency and judgment. This position emphasizes a commitment to quality improvement, adherence to professional standards, and collaborative teamwork within the unit and across hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic and individualized nursing care to obstetric and post-operative gynecology patients using the full nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
  • Manage care for diverse patient populations including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-operative gynecology.
  • Ensure adherence to all Standards of Nursing Practice, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively manage unit supplies and equipment to support patient care.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum one (1) year of acute care Registered Nurse experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination status, as mandated by state regulations.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
