Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Kealakekua, Hawaii. This role is based in a dynamic 21-bed Emergency Department, which includes 15 acute care beds and a 6-bed fast track unit. The department provides comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population across all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including triage, and develop individualized plans of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for efficacy and adverse reactions.
- Operate and maintain various medical equipment, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, and IV pumps.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Perform and assist with emergency procedures, including intubation, central line insertion, and wound care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health record documentation.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Room setting.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification.
- Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in emergency triage and rapid patient assessment.
- Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and medication administration.
- Strong EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills.
- Competency in wound care, splinting, and basic orthopedic interventions.
