Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursing Supervisor to join our team at a hospital located in Calais, Maine. This critical leadership role involves overseeing hospital operations and coordinating age-appropriate patient care activities during off-hours or in the absence of senior nursing leadership.

The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and maintain operational efficiency across the facility. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive supervision of hospital operations during assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate and oversee age-appropriate patient care activities across various units.
  • Assume overall management responsibilities for the facility in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, or Unit Directors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to established nursing standards, hospital policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding patient information and hospital operations.
  • Actively support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Demonstrate clinical proficiency in the age-appropriate care of patients using the nursing process.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of acute care experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in an Emergency Department (ED) setting.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Skills & Competencies
  • Clinical proficiency in applying the nursing process to age-appropriate patient care.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including effective communication, organizational skills, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
