Key Responsibilities of the RN - ER/ED - Emergency Room/Emergency Department

• Deliver patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Administer and monitor patient responses to medications
• Direct and guide patient care and teaching of ancillary staff
• Utilize nursing process for maintaining accurate patient records
• Provide comprehensive documentation and summary of assessment data
• Assume the role of charge nurse and demonstrate proficiency in nursing informatics
• Act as a resource person for patient care and staff orientation
• Participate in staff meetings and mandatory programs
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies
• Maintain confidentiality and service excellence

Requirements of the RN - ER/ED - Emergency Room/Emergency Department

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• 2 years of recent ER RN experience
• At least 1 year of ER travel experience
• Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• Proficiency in I.V. administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring
• Completion of an approved de-escalation Certification Course preferred
• TNCC, ENPC, and PALS certifications preferred
