Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in the profession License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC Must-Have: - Previous charge experience: 2 years preferred - Trauma Level II experience required - Travel experience required Description: ER Nurse position in a dynamic environment. Alternating schedule of 36/48 hours per week on nights. Weekend shifts required as per contract. Candidates must possess ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications. Skills required include: - Management of abdominal pain, acute psychosis, and asthma. - Administration of blood products and care of ventilated patients. - Central line care and chest tube management. - Intubation, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation monitoring. - Ability to manage violent behavior and assess mental health conditions. - Familiarity with infection control protocols and isolation precautions. - Competency in obtaining 12 lead EKGs and interpreting dysrhythmias. - Must be able to perform triage and manage traumatic injuries. Experience with the Cerner charting system is preferred. Daily census in the unit averages 165 patients with a diverse patient population. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. This role is critical in providing high-quality emergency care to a wide age range, from neonates to geriatrics.
