Key Responsibilities of the ED RN- Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department setting
- Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations
- Assess patient needs - clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual
- Recognize safety issues and ensure the safe movement of patients
- Function effectively in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills
- Exercise strong leadership by prioritizing and delegating tasks
- May assume duties as a charge nurse when required
Requirements of the ED RN- Current NYS RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Experience with MEDITECH and previous travel experience required
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Critical Care and charge experience preferred
- Completion of lethal dysrhythmia exam and defibrillation certification within six months of employment
- IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification during orientation
