This role requires working the night shift. The position involves caring for patients of all ages, including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily patient census averages around 40 visits. The unit is fast-paced with a variety of patient diagnoses such as stroke, cardiac and respiratory arrest, and orthopedic issues. The nurse will be expected to manage multiple patients with varying degrees of acuity, maintaining a patient ratio of 4 to 1. Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, intubation, and procedural sedation administration. This role will involve working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and social services.
