Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- Assess patient needs and identify care priorities in urgent and emergent situations
- Provide direct care and appropriate interventions, evaluating patient progress effectively
- Connect with patients and families, establishing rapport and addressing comfort needs
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments, identifying critical needs and necessary interventions
- Encourage teamwork and cooperation among healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and educate them for post-emergency care management
- Maintain a healing environment, focused on patient and family-centered care
Requirements of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only)
- NYS RN Licensure
- Two years of experience in the Emergency Department
