Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- Administer high-quality and compassionate care while assessing patient needs and urgencies
- Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures to manage emergency situations
- Connect with patients and families to provide updates and address comfort needs
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments, documenting any deviations and psychosocial needs
- Collaborate with team members to achieve optimum patient outcomes and provide mentorship
- Prepare and educate patients and families for ongoing care and post-emergency procedures
- Maintain awareness of patient conditions and update communication boards regularly
Requirements of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI required)
- Two years of acute hospital experience as a Registered Nurse
- One year of Emergency Department hospital experience as a Registered Nurse
