Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Globe, Arizona. This role is based in an acute care setting, providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units, including those requiring observation and step-down levels of care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Patient ratios are typically 1:6 for Medical-Surgical/Observation and 1:4 for Step Down units, fostering an environment where quality patient care is prioritized.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adult patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to interventions.
• Manage patient conditions requiring medical-surgical and telemetry interventions.
• Document patient care accurately and timely within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Ensure patient safety and maintain a therapeutic and clean environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Recent experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Recent experience in Telemetry nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Step-down unit setting.

Skills & Competencies

• Clinical proficiency in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing practices.
• Ability to accurately monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically Meditech.
• Experience operating Alaris IV pumps.
• Familiarity with Omnicell automated medication dispensing systems.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and patient interaction.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced acute care environment.

Shift Details

• Shift: Dayshift, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
• Duration: 12-hour shifts.
• Days per week: 3 days per week.
• Schedule: Set schedules.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
• Start Date: September 15, 2026.
• Call Requirements: Option to take call during times of low census, rotating with full-time staff.
