Description: Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization within the past year. Unit is a fast track with 33 beds and 2 trauma bays. There are 5 psych/seclusion rooms. The unit sees approximately 125-140 patients per day. Ratios for nursing care are 3-4:1. The electronic medical record system used is Epic. A charge nurse is present 24/7. Nurse aides and paramedics are available as ED technicians. Security and patient sitters are present 24/7. Weekend work is required, every other weekend. Holidays are required occasionally. Scrub color is navy blue for both top and bottom. There are no tele/monitor technicians assigned. Ventilators are used in the emergency department. Lab draws are performed on site. An IV team is available 24/7 to support the hospital. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. A pharmacy is on site 24/7 with limited hours. Shifts are 12 hours from 6 PM to 6:30 AM. Floor-specific orientation is one day. Common diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, trauma, and acute coronary syndrome. The cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is completed using the Epic system. A BSN is not required for this position. Trauma level is unspecified. The care setting is acute.
