Description:
The unit has a fast track system.
There are 33 beds, including 2 trauma bays.
There are 5 psych/seclusion rooms.
The unit sees 125-140 patients per day.
Ratios are 3-4 patients per nurse.
The charting system is Epic.
A charge nurse is available 24/7.
Nurse aides and paramedics are present in the unit.
Security and patient sitters are available 24/7.
There is a weekend requirement every other week.
Holidays may be required occasionally.
Scrub color is navy blue (top and bottom).
The unit supports vent management.
Lab draws and IV team services are available 24/7.
There is pharmacy support 24/7.
Common diagnoses include emergency, stroke, STEMI, trauma, and ACS.
