Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 1, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening 12-hour shifts (1100-2330 or 1500-0330), includes weekends and holidays. 4:1 patient ratio. 20 hours of orientation provided.

  • Level II Trauma Center with Acute Stroke Ready Center and Pediatric Ready Emergency Department designations
  • Full-spectrum emergency care across all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
  • Epic charting system with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology
  • Coordinates with ground ambulance services and Med Flight for critically ill and injured patients
  • ED staff serve as hospital-wide rapid response team throughout the facility
Requirements:
  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care emergency department experience within the last 3 years
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score for adult and pediatric exams)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from facility location
  • Floating to other units as needed is required

Experience with trauma care including burns, gunshot wounds, head injury, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and traumatic amputation is essential. Candidates should be skilled in managing diverse emergency presentations including CVA, STEMI, respiratory emergencies, behavioral health crises, and pediatric emergencies.
