Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a dynamic Emergency Department team in Elmira, New York. This facility features a 48-treatment space ED, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population presenting with various medical and traumatic emergencies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves critical assessment, intervention, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:5.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for emergency patients across the lifespan.
- Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring of vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to identify changes in patient conditions and implement appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Accurately document all patient care activities, observations, and interventions in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Prior experience in an Emergency Department setting.
