Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse in Buffalo, New York. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to expectant mothers, laboring patients, and their newborns in an acute care hospital setting.

You will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of the labor and delivery process, from admission through postpartum care, ensuring positive outcomes for both mother and baby. This position requires a compassionate and skilled professional capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, interpreting fetal heart tracings and vital signs.
  • Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and surgical procedures (e.g., C-sections).
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Educate patients and families on labor progression, pain management, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
  • Perform initial newborn assessments and provide immediate post-delivery care.
  • Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records using Epic.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies with critical thinking and swift action.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
  • Current clinical experience as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse.
  • Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
