The Emergency Department manages conditions ranging from non-critical to emergent medical situations, including urgent and emergent mental health crises. Staff are highly skilled and certified to provide critical care for cardiac, trauma, and pediatric patients, ensuring a high standard of care across all acuity levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions, from non-critical to emergent.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in an emergency setting, including triage and stabilization.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient responses according to established protocols.
- Manage critical cardiac and trauma cases, including pediatric emergencies, utilizing specialized certifications and skills.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required for moderate complexity testing per CAP requirements).
- Current unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Healthcare Provider Level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
