Description:
ED RN position requires experience in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
Rotating night and evening shifts are needed.
The primary requirement is for night shift coverage.
Patient age ranges include infants to geriatrics.
The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:4, which can increase to 1:5 with lower acuity.
Every other weekend and holidays are required as scheduled.
The role may require floating to other facilities within the emergency department specialty as needed.
Responsibilities include the care of patients with complex diagnoses and emergency medical conditions.
Skills required include managing abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, and drug overdoses.
The nurse should be proficient in IV management, procedural sedation, and interpreting dysrhythmias.
Communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary support services are essential.
The charting system used is Epic.
Traveling staff must be comfortable with floating within the emergency department and must have flexibility with scheduling.
