Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3 x 12 Mid/Evening Shift 9a-9p Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active RN License required or eligible to obtain Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS required Must-Have: Bachelor's degree preferred; Membership in a professional nursing organization preferred; Certification in specialty preferred Description: The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team. They are responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will be required to assess patients upon admission using appropriate interview techniques to obtain past medical history, current medical status, vital signs, lab work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests. They will be involved in the planning and implementation of a written care plan under the direction of a Physician. All RN positions require successful completion from an approved School of Nursing. All RN positions require a current, valid Registered Nurse License. All RNs must perform essential job functions and meet qualifications listed below. Registered Nurses working in specialty areas must meet requirements for those specialties as determined by that specific discipline. Essential job functions include: Assessment: Able to perform standard assessments using basic equipment. Medication Administration: Requires visual acuity and hand-eye coordination. Communication/Documentation: Maintains confidentiality and is able to communicate verbally and in writing. Patient Safety: Able to meet standards of job analysis form. Interpersonal: Interacts positively with team members and patients. Respects patients' culture, lifestyle, religion, and age when planning or implementing care. Accepts constructive criticism and channels emotional reactions in a positive manner. Clinical experience preferred.
