Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening/Night Shifts Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN Licensure in Illinois Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC or TNS Must-Have: - Experience working in an Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma Center. - Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Description: We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse for this opportunity. The ideal candidate will have experience in an Emergency Department. This position will require a weekend and holiday rotation. Candidate must hold an Active RN Licensure in Illinois. The candidate must have BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and either TNCC or TNS certifications. The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, and education verification is required. Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in patient care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and standards of care. Documents according to standards of care. Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician and clinic policy, including patient and family instruction. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise and provides guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care. Employs critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating appropriately within the chain of command. Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions, and peer review processes.
