As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, you will provide critical care to a diverse patient population across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. The hospital offers a wide range of services including comprehensive inpatient/outpatient emergency care, dental, ophthalmology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, and various surgical procedures.
In this role, you will independently perform a variety of nursing care procedures, applying professional knowledge to specific patient conditions and treatments. Your daily responsibilities will involve adhering to physician's orders, established standards of care, and hospital policies to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and support for individuals and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with physician orders and established standards of practice.
- Manage and prioritize patient care independently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, performing life-saving interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Licensing Requirements
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within one (1) year of hire.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification required within one (1) year of hire.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required within one (1) year of hire.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within six (6) months of hire.
- Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Level 5 certification required within three (3) months of hire.
- Patient Sitter Competency Training required upon hire.
