Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: 1845-0715 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two years current experience required in a large emergency department License: State Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required Must-Have: Candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test. Description: Selected candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test. Candidates will not be able to start an assignment until they have passed this onsite administered test. Should they fail, candidates will have one opportunity to re-test. A second failure will result in contract cancellation and all applicable fees will be enforced. Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required. Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by a physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. Completes patient population and procedure education and competency testing per unit standards. Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment. Epic experience preferred, but not required; training available.
