Must-Have:
Pediatric experience is ideal.
Experience with Cerner is preferred.
Experience in Level 1 or 2 trauma is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
Description:
The unit is a combined Emergency and Urgent Care unit.
It has 38 beds and 5 trauma bays/resuscitation rooms.
The team averages 140-180 patient visits per day.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1:3 in the Emergency Room and 1:6 in Urgent Care.
Common diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, sepsis, syncope, elevated heart rate, headache, and suicide ideation.
Common medication drips include heparin, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nicardipine, and norepinephrine.
Nurses are expected to triage patients from ambulances.
All nurses will assist with patient care tasks.
There is security staff available 24/7.
Respiratory therapy services are available 24/7.
RNs will draw labs and assist with blood cultures when necessary.
There is no self-scheduling; an RN scheduler will assign shifts.
Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required.
Floating to other units may occur for patient sitting or support, but is infrequent.
Scrubs should be a solid color and professionally maintained.
