Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment within a Long Term Care (LTC) facility located on a hospital campus in Hilo, Hawaii. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population requiring extended care services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing patient assessments, administering treatments and medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position requires proficiency in a variety of specialized care procedures and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders.
  • Provide timely notification to physicians and nurse practitioners regarding changes in patient condition or other pertinent information.
  • Manage patient admissions and discharges efficiently.
  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Provide specialized care including Gastrostomy Tube care, Urinary Catheter care, Nebulized Treatments, Wound Vac care, CPAP care, and Tracheostomy Care.
  • Document all patient care activities, observations, and interventions accurately and completely.
  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in performing assessments, medication administration, and various treatments.
  • Ability to provide Gastrostomy Tube care, Urinary Catheter care, Nebulized Treatments, Wound Vac care, CPAP care, and Tracheostomy Care.
