Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required, Level 1 Trauma experience preferred License: NM license can pend at submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC prior to submission) Must-Have: Strongly preferred travel experience or 2+ years of Level 1 experience Description: Candidates must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles, including Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Travelers should expect their assignments to include primarily admitted patients. Approximately 60% to 80% of the Emergency Department patients are admitted. Many of the Emergency Department rooms serve as holding areas. Medication administration must adhere to seven medication rights, with strong documentation and communication of clinical findings. Traveler schedules will include weekends as needed. Weekend days are considered Saturday and Sunday, while weekend nights include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Travelers may float within the scope to meet facility needs, with floating to Pediatrics Emergency Department being optional. Floating to Adult Patient Care Units is an expectation based on staffing demands. Current patient ratios are 1:5. Emergency Department staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various services. Special procedures include managing trauma cases and significant patient diagnoses. Bar Code Medication scanning is required for all employees in the department. Candidates should have experience in trauma and resuscitation. All travelers must begin compliance within 1-2 weeks of signing. A maximum of 7 days off is preferred, with RTO restrictions applying to the first and last days of the contract. Travelers are required to pass a drug screen within 30 days of starting the position. This role is suited for candidates who have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience. Former staff members must have a 12-month separation period before reapplying. Additional modules and training may be required upon hire, with specific testing protocols in place. All qualifications and requirements must be adhered to for consideration.
