Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in relevant nursing experience License: Valid compact nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience: 1:4 - Charting system experience Description: Position is for an Emergency Room Nurse. The role requires floating between units as per the unit needs. Weekends are required every other weekend, with potential for back-to-back weekends. This position does not require on-call work. Expected patient ratios are 1 nurse to 4 patients. The position requires variable evening and night shifts. It entails working in a short-term acute care facility with a total of 59 staff beds. Daily patient census is approximately 85 visits. The candidate should have experience with a wide range of patient age groups, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The position includes the care of all chief complaints and diagnoses in emergency situations. Expected competencies include blood product administration, central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs. This role may involve providing care in both adult and pediatric emergency settings. The organization supports an interdisciplinary approach, with assistance from various support services. Candidates must be willing to float to other units based on skill set and unit needs. Travelers must commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays during the contract period. References covering one year of experience within the last 3 years are required prior to the start of employment.
