Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 5 months Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years in Emergency Room, 1+ year in trauma center License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC Must-Have: - 2+ years of ER experience - 1+ year of trauma experience - Must have EPIC experience - Must be comfortable providing culturally competent care to a diverse population Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The unit consists of a 55-bed Emergency Department with 8-12 swing beds and 4 trauma bays. Patients seen in the Emergency Room typically include those with STEMI, Stroke, DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Respiratory Diseases, and Behavioral Health issues. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1 in the main ER and 5:1 in accelerated care. Nurses will manage their own long-term patient holds. There is a separate triage area that requires orientation and competency testing for travelers who may perform triage duties. Monitor techs are present, and RNs will read strips. Transport for critical patients is required, and both RNs and medical support staff are responsible for draws. Weekend shifts are required as per the schedule.
