Description:
The position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse working night shifts.
This role involves working in charge capacity and requires a minimum of two years of experience in a similar setting.
The department provides emergency services with a capacity of 18 beds, including 4 trauma bays.
There are two fast track rooms available within the department.
The nurse-to-patient ratio varies, with half the department operating at 4:1 and the other half at 5:1.
Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal/pelvic pain, diabetes, hypertension, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Registered Nurses are expected to titrate medications as required.
The team includes one physician available 24/7, with an additional physician present from 12 PM to 10 PM.
Assigned charge nurses also take patient assignments during slower hours.
Patient care techs assist in various areas, including triage and patient support tasks.
Respiratory therapy staff is available 24/7 for respiratory treatments.
Shifts are scheduled for 6 weeks in advance, with varying start times.
Weekend work is required every third weekend, and holiday shifts may also be expected based on departmental needs.
The facility does not utilize hall beds for patient care.
Nurses are required to wear navy or royal blue scrubs during their shifts.
