Description

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience strongly preferred. Level 1 trauma experience is preferred. License: New Mexico license can pend at submission. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC; must have TNCC prior to submission. Must-Have: Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day). Travelers should expect assignments to primarily consist of admitted patients. Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department is admitted, and many of the ED rooms are "ED Holding." Description: Medication administration, including IV medication via the seven medication rights. Document and communicate clinical findings in the Emergency Department. Patient ratios are 1:5. Travelers can be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend days constitute Saturday and Sunday; weekend nights are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Floating to adult PCUs is an expectation based on staffing needs. Potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma depending on staffing requirements. Experience with Level 2 trauma is required; Level 1 trauma is strongly preferred. Travelers should be open to accommodating a block schedule; however, this is not guaranteed. Bar Code Medication scanning is required for all employees. Travelers without necessary experience will be screened. All staff may be required to complete drug screening prior to commencing work. All necessary compliance documents must be submitted accordingly. Job may require passing an EKG testing with a pass/fail format and two attempts maximum. This is a teaching hospital setting with a daily census of 170-200 patients. The emergency department includes interdisciplinary support such as respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and more.
