Description: This position involves working in a Level 1 Trauma Center with a diverse patient population. The average patient load is approximately 150 patients per 24 hours, covering all emergency department patient types from neonates to geriatrics. Heavy behavioral health cases are prevalent. The ideal candidate will have experience with administering TPA for strokes and will be proficient in managing trauma cases. Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 during the day and may flex to 6 during the night. When fully staffed, the ratio can be 1:3. Support on the unit includes a number of ED Technicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare staff. The electronic medical record system in use is EPIC. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to draw blood cultures without contamination and have experience with US-guided IVs. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, with specific holiday expectations that require manager approval for time off. The facility fosters a collaborative environment with 24/7 access to emergency physicians and mid-level providers. Self-scheduling is encouraged, with a cycle created for six weeks at a time. Scrub colors are navy blue for registered nurses.
