Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: RN - ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of one year Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months and acute critical experience within the last 12 months. License: Current license as a Registered Nurse. Certifications: Evidence of current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification. MICN desired to be completed within one year of hire. MICN, NRP, TNCC, and CEN encouraged and recommended. Must-Have: Basic computer skills. Description: Client is committed to the safety and well-being of our associates and patients. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care service appropriate to the age of the patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and critical skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care. Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes. Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and clinical condition. Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassessments per policy, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Prepares, administers, monitors, and discontinues IV fluids. Meets professional behavior expectations and guest services expectations. Monitors hemodynamic status of patients and correctly interprets the results. Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned. Physical demands may include frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, standing, and performing repetitive hand motions. Demonstrates the ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner. This position may require exposure to blood and body fluids. This job includes potential exposure to bodily fluids during the performance of procedures. Employee must demonstrate a lift of 50 pounds from the floor. Scheduling will include rotational weekends. If oriented to another unit, the employee may be asked to float if the need arises. Medication systems, documentation systems, communication procedures, and other operational details are to be followed as outlined.
