Job Title: Emergency Room Float Pool RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid Nursing License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Experience in emergency room settings - Ability to float within the designated zone - Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room Float Pool. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in various emergency room settings. The average number of patients treated ranges from 6 to 49 per day, varying by location. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 based on acuity. Nurses are expected to be familiar with common emergency room medications and drips. Support staff includes techs that assist with unit secretary tasks and may help in triage. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 in the emergency room. Nurses will perform point-of-care lab testing and may be involved in patient transport. The position requires the ability to work every other weekend and holiday. All travelers must float within the designated zone’s emergency rooms. The charting system in use is electronic. Scheduling will be determined by leadership based on the needs of the unit.
