Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: RN Specialty: RN - ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required - Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification required Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: The role involves delivering coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The nurse supervises and directs the activities of assigned nursing staff. They coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment. Responsibilities include collecting relevant data about patients' health or situations. The nurse analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. They develop care plans that prescribe interventions to achieve desired outcomes. Implementing care plans, coordinating care delivery, and employing strategies to promote health and maintain a safe environment are essential tasks. Progress toward achieving outcomes is evaluated regularly. The nurse identifies outcomes for patients or their situations. Collaboration with patients, family members, and healthcare providers is vital to ensure safe and effective patient care. The nurse provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Health information is directly provided to patients and families. Participating in discharge planning helps ensure continuity of care. The nurse delegates appropriate tasks and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed. Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of associates and patients is essential.
