**Exciting Opportunity for a Registered Nurse: Med/Surg with ER!** **Job Description:** **POSITION SUMMARY:** - Be a vital part of a team committed to providing exceptional patient care. - Utilize your nursing judgment and skills to make a positive impact in Med/Surg and ER settings. - Engage in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. - Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure optimal patient outcomes. **SUPERVISION:** - Report to the Hospital Nursing Supervisor. **SHIFT:** - Full-Time, 36 hrs/week; Non-Exempt; Days or Nights. **JOB QUALIFICATIONS:** - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. - Current valid state Nursing License. - Maintains current CPR, ACLS, TNCC, NRP, and STABLE certifications. - Excellent communication skills. **PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** - Deliver nursing care through observation, treatment administration, and rehabilitation services. - Administer and document medications accurately using barcode scanning in the electronic health system. - Collaborate with the nursing team in planning, providing, and evaluating patient care. - Assist physicians and nurses; be responsible for total patient care in assigned areas (ER, Med/Surg, LDR, Nursery). - Maintain room and equipment cleanliness post-use, prepare sterilized supplies. - Observe, record, and report patients' physical and mental conditions and any changes. - Follow established guidelines to perform specific procedures and therapeutic treatments in the Emergency Room. - Provide comprehensive care to obstetrical patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. - Participate actively in nursing care plans, adhering to established policies and physician instructions. - Promote patient cooperation and educate patients on self-care strategies. - Stay informed about trends in nursing practices and how they can adapt to specific needs. - Uphold high standards of nursing care and maintain accurate records. - Record and transcribe physicians’ orders diligently. - Assist in the training and orientation of new team members. - Contribute to Quality Assurance and participate in educational opportunities as needed. **PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:** - Uphold ethical, moral, and legal obligations of nursing practice. - Promote good health practices continually. - Conform to established procedures and policies. - Perform duties within the scope of licensure. - Maintain current professional license per state law. - Provide leadership in medical concerns when a physician is not present. - Respect patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations. - Comply with Thayer County Health Services’ Compliance Program requirements. - Demonstrate professional engagement with patients, visitors, and staff. - Embrace new responsibilities and support change initiatives. - Maintain a neat and clean uniform for patient care and high personal hygiene standards. - Exhibit respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence with the “We Care” philosophy. **WORKING CONDITIONS:** - Indoor, smoke-free patient care environment. - Frequent contact with biohazardous materials and communicable diseases. **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
