Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 1800 to 0600 Experience: Preferred experience in an acute care facility License: Required Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice Certifications: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor Preferred Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification Must-Have: ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required TNCC preferred Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines utilizing critical thinking and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery while promoting health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining desired outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or situation. Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members. Delivers health information to patients, families, and treatment team. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Participation in ongoing education and adherence to safety protocols are expected. Compliance with required vaccinations is a condition of employment.
