Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 15 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2+ years of ER experience, 1+ year in trauma center License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: 100% Epic experience is required. Must possess comfort in providing culturally competent care. No first-time travelers will be accepted. Description: The emergency room operates with 55 total beds plus additional swing and trauma bays. The unit serves a diverse patient population, dealing with cases such as STEMI, Stroke, DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Respiratory Diseases, and Behavioral Health. A separate triage area is available, and travelers would only be expected to perform triage duties after completing additional orientation and competency testing. Registered nurses manage their own holds if they are prolonged. Security is in place, monitoring specific zones of the department. The department typically sees around 250 patients daily. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 4:1 for the main emergency department, 5:1 for accelerated care, and 2:1 for critical care. Registered nurses are responsible for transporting critical patients. Nurses and other staff perform phlebotomy tasks. Shifts may vary, with a weekend requirement of every other weekend, and holiday work is mandatory. There is no call or standby requirement. Scrub color for nursing staff is royal blue. Initial orientation begins with leadership and includes bedside shifts for training. The location offers a range of recreational activities, including hiking, skiing, and various cultural attractions.
