**Job Description:**
- Be a vital part of our Emergency Department, providing exceptional nursing care to patients of all ages.
- Utilize your skills and knowledge based on the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards.
- Engage in the nursing process through:
- Comprehensive assessment of patient needs.
- Development of tailored care plans.
- Implementation of effective nursing interventions.
- Evaluation of patient care outcomes for neonates through geriatrics.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with scheduled on-call assignments as needed.
**Minimum Requirements:**
- **Experience:**
- 2+ years in a similar nursing role.
- **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:**
- Team player acting as a liaison between patients and staff.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- High mental and emotional resilience when interacting with patients and families.
- Ability to exercise tact, sensitivity, and sound judgment in all interactions.
- **Licenses/Certifications:**
- Current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (renewed every two years).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (renewed every two years).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (renewed every two years).
- Valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
**Responsibilities:**
- **Essential Functions:**
- Triage every patient entering the emergency care system based on physical and psycho-social needs.
- Conduct hourly rounding within the department and half-hour rounding in the waiting room.
- Maintain up-to-date, patient-centered plans of care reflecting ongoing assessments.
- Ensure availability of supplies and equipment for emergency patient care.
- Recognize changes in patient conditions and direct appropriate interventions.
- Document patient responses to interventions to facilitate optimum medical care.
- Provide health education to patients and families, ensuring understanding of discharge instructions.
- **Non-Essential Functions:**
- Perform related duties as assigned.
