Description:
This role involves working in a busy Emergency Room environment.
The unit treats an average of 66 patients per day.
Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:4.
The position requires the use of various medical devices and performing critical tasks.
Common diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, and behavioral health issues.
Travelers may be required to float to different facilities within the designated region.
A charge nurse typically does not have an assignment, but travelers may be used as charge nurses.
Emergency Department technicians assist with tasks such as EKGs, blood sugar checks, and patient monitoring.
Registered Nurses are responsible for drawing labs and administering treatments.
Behavioral health expertise is preferred due to the heavy population of patients with such needs.
All staff are expected to maintain a respectful and accountable environment.
Travelers often choose to extend their assignments.
Although the hospital can cancel shifts, there is no requirement for on-call hours.
The dress code for this position is royal blue scrubs.
