Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active RN License required or eligible to obtain Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Bachelor's degree preferred Description: The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team. They are responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will be required to assess patients upon admission using appropriate interview techniques to obtain past medical history, current medical status, vital signs, lab work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests. They will be involved in the planning and implementation of a written care plan under the direction of a Physician. Essential Job Functions: Assessment: Able to perform standard assessments using basic equipment. Medication Administration: Visual acuity is required. Hand-eye coordination is required. Communication/Documentation: Maintains confidentiality. Able to communicate verbally and in writing. Patient Safety: Able to meet standards of job analysis form. Interpersonal: Interacts positively with members of the team and patients. Respects patients' culture, lifestyle, religion, and age when planning or implementing care. Accepts constructive criticism and channels emotional reactions in a positive manner. Qualifications: Graduate from an approved School of Nursing. Current RN license required or eligible to obtain. Clinical experience preferred. Membership in a professional nursing organization is preferred. Certification in specialty preferred.
