Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: WA or Compact License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS Must-Have: - 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting accepted Description: This position requires working in a busy Emergency Room setting. The hospital has approximately 56 to 70 beds available, including fast track and triage areas. Travelers may be assigned to triage after passing a triage test. There are designated 18 beds for holding inpatients awaiting placement. Emergency Room nurses manage their own holds while inpatient RNs may float for assistance. The facility includes separate rooms for psychiatric care and in-house security is present. On average, the Emergency Room sees 170 to 200 patients daily. Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:3, with lower acuity scenarios going up to 1:4. The Emergency Room deals with various diagnoses including cardiac issues, stroke, sepsis, DKA, AMS, respiratory issues, abdominal pain, and mental health emergencies. ED Techs and other support staff assist with patient care. The charting system used in the Emergency Room is Epic. It is required to work every other weekend and be available for holidays in November and December. There is no call or standby requirement, and extra shifts are available but not mandatory. The dress code is professional colors. Candidates must meet required certifications to apply for this position.
