Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum of 2 years in Level I trauma experience License: - Active state RN license required Certifications: - ACLS - BCLS by AHA - PALS - TNCC - ENPC (preferred) - NIH Must-Have: - Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias - EPIC charting experience Description: Locals accepted. Same pay for locals. RTO must be submitted at the time of application. No additional RTO will be approved later on. No RTO allowed during designated holidays. Traveler must agree to work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule. Traveler acknowledgment of high patient ratios is required, which may reach up to 8 during peak times. Modules are not billable, and candidates should account for additional hours for training. The unit is a Level 1 Trauma Center, which also serves as a Stroke Center and Heart Center. This department experiences high patient volumes. The emergency department deals with diverse patient cases, including major trauma and pediatric care. High patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6, but can increase depending on patient influx. Travelers are required to have extensive experience in trauma care and emergency procedures. All required certifications must be valid by the start date. Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration is preferred. Triage experience is also beneficial. The department employs advanced nursing guidelines to expedite patient care. Staff support includes various interdisciplinary teams. This role entails a commitment to providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
