Job Title: Staff Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Nursing - Patient Assessment - Care Plan Development - Nursing Interventions - Safety Standards Adherence Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver. They assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. They provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and resources. They perform responsibilities required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. They implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. They maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. They complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate plans of care. Plans are created in accordance with unit standards and based on patient and family needs. They implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Plans of care are modified based on continuous evaluation. They take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards. They communicate with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. They offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. They confer with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. They identify their own learning needs and take initiative to address them. They fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies. They implement procedures and theories specific to ED nursing. They perform patient assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with providers, families, and patients. They execute the plan of care and nursing interventions. They modify care plans based on continuous assessment. They are responsible for patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions. They adhere to safety standards and correct/report safety hazards. They effectively communicate and collaborate with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healthy work environment. They maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
