Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at a Critical Access Hospital in Meeker, Colorado. This role primarily focuses on providing comprehensive medical-surgical care, with a strong emphasis on post-operative spine and orthopedic patients. The successful candidate will manage a diverse patient population, including adults and pediatrics, within a dynamic inpatient setting.
As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality and safety. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in a community-focused healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult and pediatric populations, with an emphasis on post-operative spine and orthopedic patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with established nursing standards and hospital policies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care as needed within a critical access hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Spine/Ortho Post-Op patient care, with a strong Med/Surg background.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination status, as required by state mandate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital setting.
- Experience with pediatric patients.
- Experience in Emergency Room settings.

- Proficiency in post-operative care for spine and orthopedic patients.
- Strong medical-surgical nursing skills.
- Ability to manage a patient load of 1:5.

- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
