Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. This role is based in a dynamic Emergency Department, providing critical care to a diverse patient population presenting with various acute conditions and traumas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for applying the full nursing process, from assessment and planning to intervention and evaluation, in a fast-paced environment. This position requires strong critical thinking skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and state practice acts.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly, adhering to established standards.
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans based on physician orders and clinic policies, including patient and family education.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities and initiatives, which may include shared governance.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments as needed, supporting the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
- Apply critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating concerns appropriately through the chain of command.
- Engage in professional nursing continuum processes, unit practice activities, and peer review.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program with education verification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency care setting in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Shift Details

- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts, primarily 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with some 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM as needed.
- Days per Week: 3 days per week.
- Weekend Rotation: Required.

Licensing Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification.
