Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Two years of acute care RN experience License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Patient Assessment - Plan of Care - Clinical Interventions - Patient and Family Education - Regulatory Standards Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring staff. Job Responsibilities: Perform assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrate the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiate, prioritize, and implement the plan of care and review and revise as indicated. Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilize resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Monitor and document the response to clinical interventions. Facilitate, coordinate, provide, and evaluate education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Function as a mentor/preceptor and demonstrate teamwork. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement. Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Comply with regulatory standards and participate in the governance model.
