Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience in acute care settings. Description: The Emergency Room operates with a trauma level of 3. Nurses are expected to float within the assigned area. Patients are treated in a mixed holding area. On average, the unit sees around 40 patients per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 based on acuity levels. The charge nurse does take an assignment. Technicians assist with unit secretary work, nurse support, and triage. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 for treatments and ABGs. Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry strips. Point of Care lab testing will be performed by trained nurses. The facility does not employ monitor technicians. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. Holidays are also required every other rotation. The scheduling is managed by leadership based on unit needs. The charting system used is EPIC.
