Three 12-hour shifts per week with a guaranteed 36 hours. ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required. Two years of RN experience is mandatory. The unit consists of 30 private emergency rooms, including a six-room observation unit. There are six fast track beds staffed by a Physician Assistant for minor non-urgent issues. One seclusion room and an additional five monitored rooms are available. The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4. An average of 100 patients is seen per day. Support staff includes five techs during peak hours. Common patient types include trauma, cardiac, and neuro cases. The electronic medical record system used is Allscripts - Sunrise. The medication system in use is Omnicell. Scrub colors should be anything except all black. Scrubs are not provided. Cancellation policy is three per 13 weeks. Charting is done using Allscripts. A BSN is not required for this position.
